Established in 2017, Brookfield Orchard is an organic and sustainably operated farm located in the high plain/prairie regions of Texas. We planted our first apple trees in March of 2017, but quickly realized that apple trees were not enough. By the end of the year over 50 fruit baring trees called Brookfield their home, along with 15 other fruit producing plants and 200 ornamental shrubs and trees. As founders of Brookfield we have a deep commitment to providing healthy produce to local communities that meet the highest quality standards. Since it’s inception Brookfield has experimented with several fruits and vegetables to determine which types of produce can survive in our rugged climate.

The mission of organic growing is simple. No pesticides, growth hormones, or additives are ever used during the growth process at Brookfield. Mother Nature is our primary ally, as we utilize different components found in nature to produce our fruits and vegetables. The intense winds, lack of water, and common pests all present challenges, but we utilize diverse techniques that keep our organic production strong.

Brookfield Orchard also remains committed to sustainable growing practices. The orchard is currently participating in a multi-phase solar initiative in an effort to become energy independent.

Our sustainability efforts don’t stop at energy collection though. Brookfield also collects its own rain water. With a current collection capacity of over 12,000 gallons of water. Plans are already underway to increase our collection capacity to over 30,000 gallons. With these initiatives in place we are committed to providing our local community with healthy foods that don’t tax local resources.
